Over the past 15+ years, we've supported student-athletes from around the world - helping them earn scholarships, join top U.S. high schools and universities, and build successful professional careers.
Here are a few stories from The GameChanger TEAM family.
SVI MYKHAILIUK
6’7 – Guard
Country: Ukraine
BC: Cherkasy Mavpy (Cherkasy, Ukraine)
College: University of Kansas
Svi Mykhailiuk is one of the very first athletes connected to what would later become the Gamechanger TEAM.
Starting his journey in Cherkasy, Ukraine, Svi played for BC Cherkaski Mavpy and represented his country on every level — U16, U18, U20, and the Senior National Team of Ukraine.
At just 17 years old, with the support and guidance of our team, Svi earned a full scholarship to the University of Kansas (Kansas Jayhawks) — one of the most prestigious NCAA basketball programs.
During his time at Kansas, he became one of the best three-point shooters in program history, setting a record for the most three-pointers made in a single season.
After a standout college career, Svi was selected by the Los Angeles Lakers in the 2018 NBA Draft. Over the years, he has played for several NBA teams and in 2024 became an NBA Champion with the Boston Celtics.
Today, Svi continues his professional career with the Utah Jazz, representing Ukraine on the global basketball stage and inspiring the next generation of international student-athletes.

BC: Cherkaski Mavpy (Cherkasy, Ukraine)
University: California State University, Northridge (CSUN)
Dmytro began his basketball journey with the Cherkaski Mavpy Basketball Club in Ukraine, competing at the national level and representing his country on the U16, U18, U20, and senior national teams.
With the support of our team, he earned an opportunity to study in the United States at California State University, Northridge (CSUN). After a brief period at the university, he returned to Ukraine, where he rejoined Cherkaski Mavpy, won the Ukrainian SuperLeague Championship, and competed in European cups.
Dmytro later signed his first G-League contract with the Westchester Knicks. He also played in the NBA Summer League for the New York Knicks and Portland Trail Blazers, and continued his career in the G League with the Maine Celtics and Rip City Remix. He has also appeared in the NBA for the New York Knicks and Boston Celtics. In 2025, Dmytro signed with Hapoel Jerusalem, marking a new chapter in his professional career.
Dmytro was one of the first athletes we supported even before the official launch of The GameChanger Team. His journey is a testament to how talent, hard work, and strategic guidance can lead to a successful international career.

OLEKSANDR KOBETS
6’5” – Guard
Country: Ukraine
BC: Cherkaski Mavpy (Cherkasy, Ukraine)
G-League: Capital City Go-Go | NBA: Washington Wizards
Oleksandr began his basketball journey in his hometown of Novomoskovsk, Ukraine. At a young age, he moved to BC Cherkaski Mavpy, where he continued to grow and develop alongside other future Ukrainian stars, including Sviatoslav Mykhailiuk. With Mavpy’s youth program he won multiple national championships, while also representing Ukraine at every level — U16, U18, U20, and eventually the Senior National Team.
In 2018, Oleksandr became a Ukrainian SuperLeague Champion with the senior team of Cherkaski Mavpy. Despite his young age, he was named the Best Sixth Man of the Season and finished as the top scorer of his team in the championship finals series.
Following this breakthrough season, he signed with the Washington Wizards and joined their G-League affiliate, the Capital City Go-Go. Unfortunately, during his first year in the United States, he suffered an injury while representing the Ukrainian National Team, which cut short his American chapter.
Oleksandr was one of the very first athletes we supported long before the official launch of The GameChanger Team — and his story remains an important part of our foundation and identity.
